A passionate and highly skilled kayaker, Germany's Adrian Mattern is stretching the boundaries of the sport to their limits.
Kayaking is a way of life for Germany's Adrian Mattern. The attraction of the pursuit for Mattern is to get to know new places, cultures and people on every expedition, as well as mastering extreme mental and physical challenges.
Born in Heidelberg, Adrian's always looking for new spots on the world map of kayaking: new rivers and waterfalls, new techniques and styles and he always thinks 'outside the box' whenever possible. "I always take a close look at ideas and developments from other sports, such as snowboarding or mountain biking and consider whether similar things could be implemented in kayaking," he explains. "A short time later I just try it out."
